This is a Mudgee/Gulgong region based fulltime position, working within the New South Wales Mining areas and associated communities.
The CFMMEU, Mining and Energy Division’s Members work in underground and open cut coal and metals mines, the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, the petrochemical industry and iron ore mining and transportation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
You will participate in planning, implementing, and review of targeted organising campaigns.
Duties will include, probing targets, setting up campaigns, making initial contact, developing organising committees, systematic contact of Members, escalating action, settlement and site hand-over.
You must be self-motivated and have a genuine desire to help workers within the coal industry.
You will report to the lead organiser within the area and will work in accordance with the Union’s primary objectives and requirements.
Key Selection Criteria – Experience & Qualifications
You will need to be enthusiastic, energetic and have a flair for creativity enabling you to do a challenging job in a difficult environment.
You will have a demonstrated commitment to trade unionism, excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
You will have the ability to lead, motivate, develop and mobilise Union Members, workplace activists and other workers.
You will have experience in being able to effectively analyse problems and develop strategies to deal with them.
Good written communication and computer skills are required.
A current driver’s license is essential.
We seek someone who will be flexible and able to work in other locations, as required and undertake different and/or additional functions, as required.
Salary package ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 plus generous benefits, dependent on qualifications and experience.
