Hunter Workers invites you to join the 2023 May Day Parade for a day of celebration and family fun! This year's parade will take place on April 30th, starting at 9:30 am from the Newcastle Museum on Workshop Way, and continue on to the Railway Sheds at Newcastle Foreshore for a vibrant day of entertainment, carnival rides, food, and more.
May Day, also known as International Workers Day, is a day to recognise, celebrate and honour the achievements and contributions of workers and the labour movement in Australia, and call for continued progress towards better working conditions, fair wages, and social justice.
This year, we have much to celebrate! Workers across the country have achieved incredible success campaigning tenaciously for a Federal and NSW government that represents working people, as well as protecting and upholding our public services from privatisation and underfunding, updating our workplace laws to extend better rights and provisions to workers, and more.
