The Western Mineworkers Alliance (WMWA) - our joint venture with the AWU in the Pilbara, has made a submission to the WA Parliamentary Inquiry into sexual harassment against women in the FIFO mining industry.
The submission reports the results of a survey of FIFO workers examining the prevalence, nature, outcomes and reporting of sexual harassment. The survey shows that a significant proportion of workers are subject to a range of behaviours ranging from physical assault to unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate conversation or behaviour.
